Khaled Masmoudi

University Pierre & Marie Curie, France

Prof. Khaled Masmoudi is a Plant Molecular Biologist. Plant Biotechnologist and Assistant Dean for research and graduate studies at UAEU. Dr. Masmoudi completed his PhD from the University Pierre & Marie Curie, Paris 6, France in 1993. His research is focused on studying the molecular mechanisms underlying plant responses to harsh environments such as salinity, drought and extreme temperatures. He has been able to take forward his previous research to the era of genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics and functional genomics. Actually, he’s extensively engaged in studying the impact of the rhizosphere microbiota on root system development and tolerance to environmental constraints in cereals and date palm. He developed genomic approaches to discover novel components of salinity tolerance in arid land plants and date palm.

Hadia Hussain

University of Okara, Northeast Normal University, China
Dr. Hadia Hussain was born in Pakistan. She graduated in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology at GC University Faisalabad, Pakistan. She has a master’s degree in Plant Biotechnology at the Centre of Agricultural Biochemistry and Biotechnology (CABB), from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan. She completed her Ph.D. under Chinese government scholarship at Northeast Normal University, Changchun, China. Where her research is based on the functional characterization of ABA-responsive genes and transcription factors in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana including their role in hormone signaling, plant growth and development, and plant response to environmental stresses. She has expertise on different experimental work requiring a combination of techniques in areas of molecular genetics, plant physiology, and bioinformatics. Recently, she is serving as a visiting scholar in Department of Biotechnology at University of Okara.
